Gender politics 101: Don’t hire a guy who just resigned in disgrace for sexually harassing his female employees.
The New York Times just reported that Roger Ailes, the embattled former CEO of Fox News, will be used by the Trump campaign as an adviser ahead of the debates. Ailes recently resigned from the pretend news network after several of his female employees came forward with harrowing accounts of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior by the Fox head. Now that he’s freed up, naturally, the Trump campaign seems like the most fitting destination. After all, Trump thinks women who get harassed should just get better jobs.
From the New York Times:
Roger Ailes, the former Fox News chairman ousted last month over charges of sexual harassment, is advising Donald J. Trump as he begins to prepare for the all-important presidential debates this fall.Mr. Ailes is aiding Mr. Trump’s team as it turns its attention to the first debate with Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, on Sept. 26 on Long Island, according to three people briefed on the move, who insisted on anonymity because Yeah nothing says were not authorized to discuss the matter.
Two of them said that Mr. Ailes’s role could extend beyond the debates, which Mr. Trump’s advisers see as crucial to vaulting him back into strong contention for the presidency after a series of self-inflicted wounds that have eroded his standing in public opinion polls.
Yeah, nothing says closing the gender gap quite like bringing in a notorious misogynist. What’s next? Bill Cosby as an adviser?
One truly has to wonder if the Trump campaign is being run by the empty chair Clint Eastwood was screaming at. Ivanka Trump can only make so many obviously feigned speeches about her father being a champion of women. It seems the creepy old pervert vote is far more important.
