Trump’s Hypocrisy On Terrorism DESTROYED By One Brilliant Tweet (TWEET)

The death toll in the Brussels terrorist attack now stands at over 30. Predictably, the GOP presidential candidates were tweeting about the attack before they had even changed out of their pajamas. Donald Trump in particular raised the ire of many both in Europe and at home with a tweet that tried to tie the event to American politics and failed to even mention any thoughts of sympathy for the victims.

Trump has been calling for months to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. “until we can figure out what the hell is going on.” And today he is doubling down, with tweets like this:

He is also using the Brussels tragedy to encourage people to vote for him in the Utah and Arizona primaries.

Is that the perfect “ugly American” or what? “I told you so about terrorism. Now, vote for me!”

One Twitter user, “Bobby Big Wheel,” perfectly summed up the BS and hypocrisy of Trump, as well as his fellow Republicans when it comes to the way they respond to terrorism with one tweet:

Of course “Newtown” refers to the Connecticut town where 26 children were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School by an American who should have never had access to weapons. Last October, Politifact fact-checked this meme from Now This:

They rated that as “mostly true.” And how do Republicans reply when a a white American shooter goes on a rampage and kills multiple people? “Thoughts and prayers.”

Compare Trump’s reaction to the Brussels attacks to what he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” about mass shootings in the U.S.:

You’re going to have these things happen and it’s a horrible thing to behold, horrible. It’s not politically correct to say that, but you’re going to have difficulty and that will be for the next million years, there’s going to be difficulty and people are going to slip through the cracks.

Terrorists attack a European city: “Close the borders! Ban all Muslims!!”

A white gunman shoots up a school or a church: “Shit happens.”
