Donald Trump praised the jobs report today after the Bureau of Labor Statistics released December’s numbers, showing that the economy gained 148,000 jobs. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders touted the numbers on Twitter even though the numbers came in below expectations.
The fact is that 2017 resulted in the slowest year for job growth since 2010 and even the Fox News Research Twitter account sent out a tweet comparing the numbers year-by-year.
Average Monthly #Job Gains
-by year•2017: 171,000
•2016: 187,000
•2015: 226,000
•2014: 250,000
•2013: 192,000
•2012: 179,000
•2011: 174,000
•2010: 88,000#JobsReport— Fox News Research (@FoxNewsResearch) January 5, 2018
Twitter users noted the irony of Trump’s favorite network tweeting out the comparison because it’s saying that President Barack Obama was a better job creator.
Trump is responsible for the lowest job growth since 2010. Even Fox News can’t lie about how bad it is. #JobsReport https://t.co/J4BlsGwwkA

I thought you guys were on Team Trump. Thank you for showcasing President Obama. It’s about time you give him credit. #FactsFirst

So basically, Obama did better in job creation than Trump in each of his last six years. You won’t see that on @seanhannity or on @foxandfriends

The brave rogue who controls the Fox News Research Twitter account is clearly part of the DEEP STATE too because they keep sharing so-called “FACTS” https://t.co/7JQZwk3fIv

2 million new jobs were created in 2017, the least jobs created in the last 6 years.
2017 – 2.0M
2016 – 2.2M
2015 – 2.7M
2014 – 3.0M
2013 – 2.3M
2012 – 2.1MAnd for Trumpers, if you don’t believe me, how about Fox “News” https://t.co/iVH564bz54

Lol
Trump’s numbers are so tiny compared to Obama’s big numbers.

Tired of all this “winning?!” Once again, Obama wins!

But but but but but but but but but but but but but but …….. every MAGA person right now

And even Trump in 2012 disagreed with Trump in 2017. Each got a 148,000K jobs report for the month but Trump blasted Obama for that.
Today’s job report is not a good sign & we could be facing another recession. No real job growth. We need over 300K new jobs a month.

Trump has been riding on Obama’s coattails, a man he repeatedly disparaged because he knows he can’t fill his shoes.
