President-elect Donald Trump wants his loyal supporters to make his pockets (*cough* we mean “campaign coffers”) fat again this holiday season.
The Trump campaign is now selling “Make America Great Again” Christmas ornaments for the “tremendously” low, low price of $149 each. How’s that for a message to the “economically anxious” working class voters who supported him?
The ornaments are miniature versions of his signature red baseball caps (which are made in China).
According to the description, they are “made of brass and finished in 14 karat gold.”
“This ornament is sure to make any tree stand out,” the emailed sales pitch says.
A Trump campaign staffer advertising the decoration, says “President-elect Trump loves Christmas and makes a point of proudly saying ‘Merry Christmas’ every chance he gets.”
“This collectible ornament commemorates Trump’s commitment to the Christmas spirit and will be a great addition to your family’s tree this year,” says the email.
According to the site, the proceeds from the sales will go to a joint fundraising committee set up between the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee.
Some people may feel that the blatant hawking of Christmas ornaments in the shape of the President-elect’s tacky red campaign hats is the textbook definition of tasteless. But rest assured, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway says that the ornaments are made in the USA (although she didn’t elaborate on the legal status of the factory’s workers).
Hail to the QVC pitchman-in-chief.
