Earlier this month, former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields accused Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski of assaulting her at a rally in Jupiter, Florida. Now, the police are charging him with a misdemeanor.
During a rally, the former reporter tried to ask Trump a question that his campaign didn’t want him to answer when Lewandowski suddenly grabbed her by the arm and yanked her away. The Trump campaign immediately denied that their campaign manager put his hands on a woman, of course. But Fields responded by posting a photograph of her bruises:
Well, apparently the Jupiter police believe that he did, in fact, manhandle her because they have charged the campaign manager with misdemeanor assault. The Associated Press reported:
Lewandowski grabbed Fields’ left arm with his right hand causing her to turn and step back,” reads the report. Fields showed police her left forearm which “appeared to show a grabbing-type injury,” according to the investigating officer.
In spite of the fact that the police also released a video that appears to show Lewandowski grabbing her, the Trump campaign has said he “is absolutely innocent of this charge.”:
He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated.
