Trump Blames His Alleged Sexual Assaults On A Mexican Man

In a story that would have been rejected by The Onion as “too on the nose,” Donald Trump’s camp announced that it would be rolling out a new line of defense for the growing number of sexual assault charges against the candidate: A Mexican man did it.

Specifically a Mexican billionaire named Carlos Slim, who Trump plans to smear as part of a “globalist conspiracy” against him. The plan appears to be to show that Slim, who is a shareholder of the company that owns the New York Times, is giving the newspaper false information as part of a strategy to help Clinton.

As early as Friday, Mr. Trump is planning to claim that Mr. Slim, as a shareholder of New York Times Co. and donor to the Clinton Foundation, has an interest in helping Hillary Clinton’s campaign, according to a Trump adviser.

Attacking the Mexican billionaire would allow Mr. Trump to hit several targets. He could slam the “failing” New York Times, which he says had to be “rescued” by a “foreigner”—Mr. Slim, the adviser said.

The Trump campaign declined to provide even a shred of evidence for these claims. Meanwhile, the New York Times and the Clinton campaign both emphatically denied the allegations. Brian Fallon, Clinton’s press secretary labeled it “just another deranged right-wing conspiracy theory from Donald Trump’s increasingly desperate campaign.”

The irony of now baselessly using a Mexican billionaire as cover for his own sexual misconduct should not be lost on anybody. Infamously, Trump launched his campaign by saying Mexico is sending rapists and murderers into the United States.

Just for clarity, Trump’s latest worldview is that a cabal of elites, bankers, and “globalists” have allied themselves against him using the media outlets they run. His fans seem to have taken the fact that he means “Jews” at face value. In recent weeks, journalists have reported seeing a disturbing rise in swastikas and other Nazi memorabilia at Trump rallies.

(Note: That’s a “Hillary for Prison 2016” shirt, a common sight within Trump rallies.)

Now, Trump wants to use xenophobia against Mexicans to add another layer of confusion to the mix. In Trump’s world, Mexican billionaires are working with Jewish bankers and media owners to elect the first woman president so she can continue to help fund ISIS. Globalists, indeed.

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign has yet to provide a credible defense against the women who claim they are victims of Trump’s groping. In a telling moment, Melania Trump announced she was suing one of the victims – but not because she had claimed Trump assaulted her. Melania was mad because in the victim’s account Trump assaulted her while she and Melania were friends. Melania was outraged. They were never friends, she said.
