In the wake of the ISIS-led Paris massacre, which killed 130 civilians and wounded hundreds more, the Republican presidential candidates have escalated their hate-filled rhetoric in an attempt to appeal to the ignorant, fearful masses. Case in point: Ben Carson’s appearance Sunday on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos.”
When asked by Stephanopoulos if Carson agreed with fellow candidate Donald Trump regarding using “enhanced interrogation techniques” such as waterboarding against alleged terror suspects, Carson said:
There’s no such thing as political correctness when you’re fighting an enemy who wants to destroy you. And I’m not one who’s real big on telling the enemy on what we’re going to do and what we’re not going to do.
To quote Ronald Reagan, “there you go again.” Ben Carson — the PC candidate.
In addition, Carson reiterated his stance on keeping mosques under surveillance. Not content to stop there, Carson also said he favored monitoring churches, schools and shopping centers, because, in his words, “there’s a lot of radicalization going on.”
Apparently infringing on constitutional rights is just fine with Carson, EXCEPT when we’re talking about guns. True to Republican form, he has a HUGE issue with infringing on ANYONE’S Second Amendment rights. That’s right, Carson is uncomfortable with the idea of preventing people on terror watch lists from purchasing firearms or explosives, but only after he waterboards the sh*t out of them.
In Carson’s words:
There are a lot of people on that watch list and they have no idea of why they’re on that list, they have been trying to get their names off of it and no one will give them information. I am a big supporter of the Second Amendment and I don’t want to deprive people unnecessarily of that. There needs to be better due process.
So let’s watch the hell out of people we don’t trust just because they are different from us, and reserve the right to torture them nigh unto death, but if they want to purchase a gun, that’s OK???
