Democrats aren’t the only ones who aren’t keen on Donald Trump as the next President of the United States, Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) is too. Curbelo was confronted by his local CBS station Thursday about who he’d support if Trump was the GOP nominee. He had a hard time with the answer. You see, Curbelo is in a tough election against a strong Democratic opponent in a district with a lot of people of color who probably don’t favor the likes of Trump.
“I think both Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton are flawed candidates,” he said. “If you look at the polls, the majority of Americans have a negative view of both of them. I’m going to wait and see what happens on our side; I’ve already said that I would not support Mr. Trump.”
Understandably, Curbelo said he could not be a Trump supporter. Perhaps because it would be the kiss of death to his political future. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be casting his ballot for a Democrat. But he does admit, Clinton seems like a much better choice.
“I think that in every election, everyone — Republican, Democrat, independent — has to ask themselves, ‘Who is the best candidate for this office?’ ” he explained. “A lot of Republicans, Republicans that I know, would vote for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.”
“What I have said to the media over and over again is that I will not support Mr. Trump under any circumstances,” Curbelo continued.
He’s not the only person of color who’s afraid of Trump’s antics. Check out these numbers from a Wall Street Journal poll:

There’s no way that Curbelo wins his Congressional race if Trump is the nominee. People of color in his district will come out in droves against Trump and if Curbelo doesn’t align himself with another candidate he’s going to go down with the ship.
