Liar, liar, pants on fire! The Eagles’ Joe Walsh was just put in a horrible position by Republicans, who lied to him about a performance which turned out to be a launch for the Republican National Convention — not a non-partisan event for vets and their families like he was told. This seems par for the course, as lying really appears to be the only way Republicans know to get things done.
According to the Rolling Stone, Walsh said:
It was my understanding that I was playing a concert which was a nonpartisan event to benefit the families of American veterans on Monday, July 18 in Cleveland. The admat I approved said this specifically.
That lie has just bit the GOP like a starving school of piranha. Of course, once again, the ones that are going to be adversely affected by their dishonest and underhanded tactics are our veterans.
Walsh’s aversion to the hateful and disgusting Republican primary isn’t shocking, if you aren’t one of the ravening morons falling into the ridiculous party of hate free-for-all you are probably disgusted by it as well. Not only were they going to use him for his name and fame, they were going to use him to finance their mission of isolationism, xenophobia, and basic bullying of anyone unlike themselves. He is apparently also a man of principles and judgement, saying that he can not, in any way, support the RNC.
In addition, my name is to be used to raise sponsorship dollars for convention-related purposes. Therefore, I must humbly withdraw my participation in this event with apologies to any fans or veterans and their families that I might disappoint.
I am very concerned about the rampant vitriol, fear-mongering and bullying coming from the current Republican campaigns. It is both isolationist and spiteful. I cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way. I will look at doing a veteran related benefit concert later this year.”
Because he was lied to, and now must cancel the event, he extended an apology to any vets who may be affected. Any vets affected should know this, this never would have happened if the RNC could get good entertainment without lying about their identity. Well, really, if they could do ANYTHING without lying, that would be good too.
Child-molesting pants-sh*tters are more their speed, anyway, and don’t have a problem with the poisonous hatriot politics of the dying GOP.
