If you believed what Republicans have been saying virtually in unison, at the recent array of debates, Obamacare has caused over 90 million Americans to choose not to work. It also has caused every business that exists in our nation to hire robots to work for them, and then even made a few fire those robots because of how bad the law is.
The lies about Obamacare have been debunked for the last 5 years or so, continually, by so many people they can’t easily be counted. Republicans will just keep saying it is the fault of the liberal media and keep lying to your face about it.
Carly Fiorina said Obamacare isn’t helping anyone. Marco Rubio said “[W]e have a crazy health care law that discourages companies from hiring people.” Ted Cruz keeps making a face like he is sucking on a lemon then screaming he will repeal every single word of Obamacare.
We have had about 5 years worth of this nonsense now. Will it ever end? Since Republican voters don’t use things like facts, and only listen to dog whistles, possibly not.
Steve Bennen of Maddowblog came up with yet another great and simple chart that disproves all the Republican BS when it comes to the ACA:
It is just simply the facts. We have had the greatest streak of unbroken job growth in this country, in decades. The numbers frequently are better than expected in monthly jobs reports. Even Fox News is starting to fumble reporting on them and minimizing their coverage due to better than expected gains.
When Republican presidential candidates keep saying we have a “crazy healthcare law that is discouraging companies from hiring people,” will “journalists” ever call them out on it? Do we get to have ANY level of fact checking or truth in the debates anymore, or is the Fox News model of enabling dishonesty to America the new normal?
