Rachel Maddow interviewed Hillary Clinton on Thursday and confronted her about her campaign’s recent turn toward attacking her opponent, Bernie Sanders’, character.
Both opponents had previously been displaying very grown-up behavior, unlike the sickening display of circus antics coming from the GOP side. However, Hillary’s campaign has recently begun to engage in behavior that seriously seems to be deviating from what we have come to expect.
Rachel Maddow, not one to beat around the bush, goes directly to the issue:
Your campaign is essentially fighting with him now in a way that is casting aspersions on his character, calling [Bernie Sanders] dishonest
While making reference to an earlier press phone call by Clinton’s camp claiming that Sanders’ latest ad, which never actually names Clinton, is attacking her, Maddow said:
The character of the campaign, the tone of the campaign, the way you are trying to persuade those undecided voters seems to have changed a little bit in the last week or so. Just this afternoon, your campaign, in my estimation, set its hair on fire a little bit
