Pussy Riot Warns America: We Laughed When Putin Rose To Power Too

After a week long quasi-love affair in the media between Republican front-runner Donald Trump and Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin, it becomes quickly apparent that these two have much more in common than just a miserable command of the English language and a brash bravado that makes your typical neighborhood bully look like a campfire girl by comparison. Recently in an interview with the Huffington Post, Maria Alekhina, aka Masha of the rebellious gorilla rock band out of Russia- Pussy Riot, gave a steadfast warning to the American voters about a man they see as nothing more than a tyrannical Russian dictator draped in an American flag and a bad hairpiece.

During the interview, Alekhina did not hesitate to compare the current rise of Donald Trump to the very similar rise of Russia’s very own shirtless bear riding ruler Vladimir Putin, who like Trump was also not taken seriously as he accumulated more and more power by entertaining the masses with “Bread and Circus.”

Everybody [is] joking about Donald Trump now, but it’s a very short way from joke to sad reality when you have a really crazy president speaking about breaking every moral and logic norm.

Warned Alekhina, a woman who knows first-hand what it is like to suffer under a fascist regime, as she recounts her own terrifying story of how she and her fellow band mates spend 21 months in a Russian prison for the trumped up (no pun intended) charge of hooliganism. Concerned about America’s own uncertain political future, Alekhina went on to say,

When Putin came to his first term or second term, nobody [in Russia] actually thought that this is serious. Everybody was joking about it. And nobody could imagine that after five, six years, we would have a war in Ukraine, annexation of Crimea, and these problems in Syria.

Now as many laugh and even applaud Trump’s own over the top campaign of hateful rhetoric and fear mongering, could America be on the verge of becoming a fascist state under the control of a narcissistic mad tyrant? Or is the fabric of America so embolden with the ideas of Freedom and Democracy such a fate is impossible to even imagine? If you ask Maria Alekhina, a woman who has experienced true tyranny first hand her answer would be,

If you want in your country to have your own Putin, you can vote for Donald Trump.
