Angela Box, third grade teacher at Ray K. Daily Elementary in Houston, TX, has resigned after she made an appearance on a public access television show in early November called Tommy’s Garage — a political conservative show that offers commentary on controversial current events.
Box made several offensive remarks about President Obama and Islam which prompted her school district to reevaluate her employment.
“As I have said before, opposing President Obama and sounding the alarm about radical Islam does not make me a racist.”
After wishing death by Ebola on the President of the United States, Box was voted out 6-0 by the trustees of the Houston Independent School district to approve her resignation. Box also received and undisclosed settlement.
Her exact quote:
Can’t Ebola just take one for the team and take out Obama?
The brash elementary school teacher also spoke out against Islam after the beheadings that took place during October which prompted irrational fear among right-wing nut jobs.
Every normal human being in the world knows that goat-f***ing Muslims and, oh, boy f***ing Muslims, are the evil of the world.
The conservative audience applauded her after these remarks.
When interviewed about her remarks, Box tried to clarify that she knows that all Muslims are not bad people, she just wishes that more Muslims would take a stand against radicals. However given the fact that she uses umbrella terms like “Bacon-haters” when referring to Muslims in this country, it’s unlikely her bigotry is only relegated to radicals.
Box went on to say that she is offended by the Islamic faith in general using regional stereotypes to paint Islam with a broad brush, saying:
I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists. That is ludicrous and insane. And I am offended that I even have to say that. But again, you know what I’m offended by? I’m offended by a religion that says ‘Convert or I’m going to cut your head off,’ or ‘I’m gonna stone you to death,’ or ‘I’m going to mutilate your genitals.’ I’m offended by THAT.
Box is also seen on Tommy’s Garage grabbing her breasts and shaking her cleavage at the camera, shouting:
This is for the Muzzies!
The former third-grade teacher also likens herself to Martin Luther King Jr. and defends her right to say offensive, racist things about people who are different from her.
I don’t believe in judging people by the color of their skin. I, actually, like Martin Luther King did, shockingly, judge people by the content of their character.
Sure you do, Ms. Box — and I’m the Queen of Narnia.
