You may already be feeling the pleasure at the pump, with the price of a gallon of gas below $1.42 in some areas. AAA and GasBuddy are both forecasting that prices below $2 will soon not be unusual in most areas of the U.S.
Various factors, such as refining capacity, strong U.S. domestic production, and a declining projected demand in places like China are serving to practically crater the price of a barrel of oil. Predictions are saying that soon we will see gas prices of $1 a gallon in some areas.
However, do you remember how Republicans have been bashing the hell out of Obama every time gas prices are high? It’s all his fault. This means it’s his fault if they are low as well, right?
Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and South Carolina have gas prices that average at or below $1.75, and Obama didn’t even need the Keystone XL pipeline to do it.
Way to destroy American Obama! $1 gas? What’s next? Gay people getting married and we will defeat ISIS?
Mitt Romney tried to attach high gas prices to Obama during the 2012 election as well. While not promising to actually DO anything about the price of gas, Mitt said, “no one can guarantee what the price of oil’s gonna be” then immediately bashed Obama for not guaranteeing a low price for oil.
Republicans have been lying about gas prices for years. Economists predicted a drop in gas and oil prices, due to slowing growth in developing nations. They made a promise to do something that would have happened even if they did nothing.
As usual, Republicans are a day late and a dollar short. Obama completely wrecked every “promise” that Republicans made just by keeping his seat warm in the oval office. There are definitely things that influence gas prices which Obama had a hand in directly or indirectly. However, the majority of it came from a simple decline in demand while production stayed high. Don’t let that stop you, though. Make sure you remind every Republican you know that according to them, Obama is responsible for gas prices.
