Paul Ryan Freaks Out, Tells House Republicans The Presidential Race Is Over And To Save Themselves

Paul Ryan is growing very worried that Hillary Clinton will win the White House. The Republican Speaker of the House told the House GOP that “he will not defend or campaign with Trump,” according media sources.

In a statement, Paul Ryan’s spokeswoman, AshLee Strong, said:

The speaker is going to spend the next month focused entirely on protecting our congressional majorities.

The AP put it more succinctly:

After the mass exodus of Republican backers from the Trump Train, apparently Paul Ryan isn’t ONLY concerned about Hillary beating Trump in the race to the White House, but is also concerned with the prospect that Trump’s failure could take down the majority in the House. Just think about this for a moment. The House Speaker, the highest office in the land currently occupied by a Republican, is giving a damning statement about the chances of the current presidential candidate of his party.

It is certainly a telling revelation of the current state of the Republican party. The party is collapsing.

While Ryan didn’t go as far as removing his endorsement of Donald Trump for President, specifically, the statement still has plenty of strength. I’ve heard it equated much like trying to get GOP members of the House on life boats as the Titanic is sinking.

Ryan basically told them to do what they need to do for themselves and their districts. Meaning, if your base of voters see Trump as favorable, you do what you need to do to keep your seat! And, vice versa. This means Republican leaders are in the awkward situation of trying to keep the Trump voters as supporters in their districts, while still trying to get the votes of some sane individuals who will not be voting for Trump. It’s a tight rope and many will surely fall.

If Democrats show up to the polls on Election Day and VOTE BLUE – we stand a chance of not only winning the White House, but also the House.

Ryan knows it’s a risk. His cronies know it is a risk. Trump doesn’t care that it is a risk. And, Democrats can pounce and walk away the winners of all.

In the words of a very wise man, “Don’t boo. Vote.”
