Last month 8-year-old Mari Copeny, better known as Little Miss Flint, wrote a letter to President Obama explaining that she was “one of the children” that had been affected by the man-made water crisis that had poisoned the entire city of Flint. She told the president that she had “been doing my best to march in protest and to speak out for all the kids that live here in Flint.”
She also told Obama that she would very much like to meet him. So what did the leader of the free world do? He wrote her back and told her that he was going to fly to Michigan to meet this young girl turned activist. The moment the two of them finally met may be one of the most adorable things you’ve ever seen.
Little Miss Flint ran to greet the president and jumped into his arms. Obama is known for having a way with children, and this is why.
In his speech, Obama said that he came to Flint because a little girl “shouldn’t have to travel all the way to Washington to be heard.” Yet one more reason we are all going to miss him so much when he leaves office.
Watch the moment Obama meets Little Miss Flint below. It may be one of the cutest things you have ever seen.
