President Obama was asked to respond to a terminally stupid remark that Jeb Bush made regarding the most recent American mass shooting that occurred at an Oregon community college yesterday.
Here’s Jeb’s full quote:
We’re in a difficult time in our country and I don’t think more government is necessarily the answer to this. I think we need to reconnect ourselves with everybody else. It’s very sad to see. But I resist the notion, and I had this challenge as governor—look, stuff happens. There’s always a crisis. The impulse is always to do something and it’s not necessarily the right thing to do.

We need to reconnect ourselves to with everybody else? What the hell does that even mean?
Does this look like “reconnecting ourselves with everybody else,” Jeb?
The USA has more guns in the hands of the general population than any other country, coupled with the highest rate of gun murder outside of post-war or terrorist state nations.
“Stuff happens” is not an appropriate response to this tragedy, and its freakin’ embarrassing to hear it coming from a presidential candidate and former governor.
How many innocent civilian deaths do Republicans think our “exceptional” society should simply absorb, before we make even the most modest efforts to curtail them?
