More GOP Politicians Than Trans People Have Been Arrested For Sex Acts in Bathrooms

With Donald Trump instigating so much xenophobia these days, we almost forget about the GOP’s hate of gay people looking to live normal lives. North Carolina’s anti-LGBT House Bill 2 has caused a lot of stir over who gets to use which bathroom. For most of us, we tend to use the ones that feature the little stick figure man and women, which never really seemed official to me.

Regardless of your opinion of transgender people and whether you think the bathroom issue is a completely stupid non-issue, the fact remains that zero transgender people have been arrested for engaging in sexual acts in public bathrooms. That’s just what we know.  On the other hand, 3 (or at least what we know) ever-so-Christian Republicans (aka. self-loathing homosexuals) have been arrested for having sex in public bathrooms.

Dan Avery, a writer with NewNowNext, pointed out this fact last month.

Obviously we need laws against senators using bathrooms, not trans people!” wrote Avery

Without further ado, here are the 3 busted GOP  bathroom buddies:

Jon Hinson

Then Mississippi congressman Jon Hinson was arrested in 1981 for having oral sex in the House of Representatives’ bathroom with a government staffer.  Unlike today’s hypocritical politicians, he actually resigned from office after the incident.  Hinson came out as gay shortly after, gallantly living out the rest of his life as an LGBT activist. Sadly, he passed away from AIDS in 1995.

Larry Craig

Ah yes, good old Capt. Wide Stance. In 2007, Senator Craig (R-ID) was arrested for lewd conduct in a men’s bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The funniest part was Craig’s defense. The Senator claimed to have  had a “wide stance” after an undercover officer accused him of trying to initiate a sexual transaction between bathroom stalls.

Florida Republican state Representative Bob Allen

This scumbag gets extra brownie points in the area of hypocrisy. In 2007, Florida state Representative Bob Allen was arrested for allegedly agreeing to pay $20 to perform a sex act to an undercover cop in the bathroom at a public park. It really was a difficult year for Republicans to suppress their inner self-loathing homosexual.  Allen gets extra brownie points in the area of hypocrisy, given all of his massive anti-gay legislation and rhetoric.

So while the nation freaks out about which bathroom LGBT people are using, it’s important to take note of who the actual sexual deviants are.
