Krauthammer Calls Obama Out In His Lethargic Attitude Towards War That ‘He Declared Himself’

Wednesday night on “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer condemned President Obama on his war efforts toward ISIS, repeating the phrase “simply astonishing.”

While King Abdullah II of Jordan himself gears up to personally take the on battle of ISIS, even though they are short of munitions and weaponry, President Obama still has yet to arm the pro-western Syrian rebels or the Kurds.

“The Hammer” slams Obama for one minute, forty-five seconds in the video, astonished that such indifference could come from the United States while Jordan vows to bombard ISIS relentlessly until their military is “out of fuel and bullets.”

Here is the transcription from the video:

The disinterest and lethargy of this president, the lassitude with which he pursues this war – which he declared himself – is simply astonishing. He hasn’t armed the Syrian rebels, the one’s who are pro-western – they’ve been withering on the vine. They’re being wiped out. The weapons that the Kurds have been desperately needing have not been arriving. Jordan, which is our staunchest ally in the area, is short of weaponry, short of munitions, and it takes forever for that to get through. It shouldn’t even be an issue. A president steps in and says to the State Department and Defense Department, “I want this done!” Nixon did an airlift in the middle of the October war, the ‘73 war in which he airlifted heavy ammunitions to the Middle East overnight. This president is not interested; and to go out of area in Ukraine. For a year the Ukrainians and Americans in Congress have been asking him to equip them. What is he doing? He seems completely uninterested. He’s grudgingly doing what he has to do because of the beheading of the two Americans that drove him into this. The idea that Jordan, the smallest, the most fragile, the most isolated country in the region should be leading this campaign rather than the United States is simply astonishing. And the talk of the 60 member coalition is a joke. I saw in the list Belgium. That’s really the heart of this coalition. Jordan is out there alone and we could suffer a huge setback if its not helped from the outside – meaning us and the other states in the region.

I do not applaud our Commander in Chief for his failure in sending support to the forces in direct conflict with the terrorists, if in fact he has failed to do so. But we must not forget that there is a system of checks and balances in place. Even though Krauthammer wants Obama to Nixonify himself, we must remember that despite his numerous denials, Nixon was indeed a crook.

Moving on, I must give the King of Jordan my most hearty of standing ovations. There’s a man with meager means not just stamping papers and ordering others about, but rather strapping his boots tight and taking it to the field himself. We all could learn a lesson from this shining example of sheer badassery.
