Secretary of State John Kerry said this weekend that other world leaders are aghast at the farce that is the Republican excuse for a race to the White House, which he termed “an embarrassment to our country.”
Appearing on Face the Nation this Sunday morning, Kerry first had to defend the President’s itinerary following the terror attacks in Brussels, because conservatives would much rather focus on the fact the Obama smiled at a baseball game than the reality that their party is currently helping to usher in a new era of racist fascism.
Host John Dickerson then asked Kerry what the rest of the world is thinking when they look at the GOP presidential race and the 2016 election season so far.
Everywhere I go, every leader I meet, they ask about what is happening in America. They cannot believe it. I think it is fair to say that they’re shocked. They don’t know where it’s taking the United States of America. It upsets people’s sense of equilibrium about our steadiness, our reliability.
And to some degree, I must say to you, some of the questions, the way they’re posed to me, it’s clear to me that what’s happening is an embarrasment to our country.
