In His Rush To Defend Trump, O’Reilly Trips Over His Own Stupidity; Blames Chris Rock For Trump’s Remarks

While most of the right-wingers defending Trump for his remarks about McCain are at least partially pinning the blame on McCain, Bill O’Reilly will have none of that. During the July 21 edition of The O’Reilly Factor,  the head of the No Sense Zone actually managed to blame Chris Rock for the remarks.

From politico to comedian

Trump made his remarks before a conservative crowd on Saturday. While speaking of McCain, who had previously called Trump’s supporters “crazies,” Trump said that McCain wasn’t “a war hero” because “he was captured” and Trump liked “people who weren’t captured.”

The Republican establishment smelled blood and went after him, determined to find any sort of weakness in the campaign of the Teflon Don. Defiant as ever, Trump stuck to his guns and refused to apologize, prompting a wave of right-wing support from the media — mostly from Fox News, where it seemed to be everyone’s fault but Trump’s for his remarks.

Including Chris Rock, apparently.

So how exactly does Chris Rock fit into this equation?

During a 2008 comedy act, Rock incorporated McCain’s time as a POW:

There’s a lot of guys in jail that got captured. I don’t want to vote for nobody that got captured,” Rock joked, before saying, “I want to vote for the mother***** that got away!

Now, there’s a contextual difference between comedy and politics, no matter how hard the Republicans are working to erase it.

O’Reilly, however, wouldn’t know what context was if it came wrapped in falafel and served with a side of chickpeas.

Rock didn’t take any heat for that,” O’Reilly said. “But I think subliminally, I think that’s what that was all about.

What it’s really about is the first Republican debate of the season, which will air live on Fox News in August. Given how hard they’re shilling for Trump, it makes you wonder how impartial they’re going to be to the other clowns in the comedy show, doesn’t it?
