Horrifying: DHS Debates Ripping Children From Their Parents At The Border (VIDEO)

Just when you thought the anti-immigrant rhetoric of the right and the policies they are enforcing couldn’t get much more abhorrent, they find a way to prove you wrong.

During an appearance on CNN this Monday, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said that he was debating ripping children away from their parents if they are caught crossing the border from Mexico into the United States. Why would anyone consider something so heinous? Why,  to deter illegal immigration, of course.

Kelly was asked about recent media reports regarding a possible change in U.S. policy that would allow children to be separated from their moms and dads.

“Yes, I am considering — in order to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network — I am considering exactly that,” Kelly said.

“They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents,” Kelly said.

Under Donald Trump’s bigoted reign, immigrants in America have been targeted for deportation even if they have committed no crimes. Dreamers are being deported. Parents are being dragged away in handcuffs when they try to drop their children off at school. Families of soldiers stationed overseas are no longer safe. In fact, veterans themselves who are returning home from active duty service can’t even escape Trump’s racist wrath.

And now we want to snatch children away from their mothers? Because they will be “well cared for?” Are these people serious? To think that a small child, making a terrifying journey to a new country where they don’t even speak the language won’t be traumatized if you rip them from the arms of their parents and keep them separated for god knows how long is ignorance at its finest. This isn’t “making America great again,” this is child abuse.
