In the ever-deepening abyss of lower bars that modern Republicans are setting for themselves, conservative movie critic, political commentator, and generally disgusting individual, Debbie Schlussel took to Twitter to make fun of President Jimmy Carter’s cancer diagnosis.
Yes, you did read that correctly — and this is not satire.
Jimmy Carter recently announced that it was discovered he had liver cancer during surgery, and that it had also spread to the rest of his body.
Being the good, Christ-like Christian Conservative, Schlussel thought “What would Jesus do?” The answer apparently was to mock a great president and greater humanitarian via Tweets.
Debbie Schlussel: “A cancer has cancer. Oops, I mean, Jimmy Carter has cancer. Same diff.”
Screengrabs of Schlussel’s tweets were captured below before they got deleted.
As of this writing, Schlussel’s Twitter feed, which can be easily found HERE does not have any of the usual “I regret my earlier statements” or “Mistakes were made” postings. What a peach.
Yet again, we have another example of how Conservatives tout themselves as the pinnacle of morality and Christian values, but only when they are using their platform to climb on so they can judge everyone else from above.
When it comes down to it, people like Schlussel and her ilk are truly the worst of us, and would just as soon step on you as do something as innocuous as say, “Have a nice day!” (Well, they might as long as you aren’t gay, brown, atheist or 100 other things they love to hate.)
On a personal note, as someone who has dealt with illness like this in their family, I hope that whoever gives her money for being a Conservative airhead decides that she is too much of a liability for their current business model. I am sure another GoFundMe would ensue and end in failure.
If you want a real challenge, try to watch this entire video of her barely-coherent babbling without losing your mind:
