Hillary Responds To Tragic Police Shootings With Compassion While Trump Just Talks About Himself

The responses of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump to the murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile by out of control police is a perfect microcosm of their campaigns. The deaths of both men were captured on cell phone video and both have sparked protests and outrage over the unnecessary use of lethal force.

Sterling was killed early Wednesday morning and by that evening, the story and video had gone viral. Hillary released a statement condemning the violence in no uncertain terms:

From Staten Island to Baltimore, Ferguson to Baton Rouge, too many African American families mourn the loss of a loved one from a police-involved incident. Something is profoundly wrong when so many Americans have reason to believe that our country doesn’t consider them as precious as others because of the color of their skin.

In other words: Blacks Lives Matter. Here’s the tweet with the full text released by her campaign:

The next day, she released another tweet, this time about Philando Castile, murdered while complying with an officer’s instructions to produce his ID, in which she actually does say, “Black Lives Matter”:

Some people have been unclear why Hillary Clinton does so well with black voters. This would be one of those reasons. Most white politicians would be hesitant to criticize the police or openly support #BLM during an election year but she just plowed ahead and did it anyway. The backlash is going to be loud and furious but she doesn’t seem to give a damn so neither do I.

Now, in comparison, Donald Trump has said….nothing. Not a damn thing. No public statements, nothing in an interview. And his twitter feed, the direct connection to his oversized ego, is still filled with bitching and moaning about his anti-Semitic tweet being TOTALLY innocent and how mean the liberal media is to him. In other words, Trump’s twitter feed is all about Trump. Clearly, he hasn’t thought of a way to promote himself using the unnecessary deaths of two black men at the hands of the police. When he does, you can bet he’ll have plenty to say about it.

Until then, he doesn’t care and wouldn’t risk alienating his white supremacist base.

The President of the United States is the president of EVERY American, not just the ones with the right skin color. Hillary understands this and that’s why she’s going to be the next Commander-in-Chief. Trump will never understand this and that’s why he’ll never step foot in the Oval Office.
