In the blizzard of crazy that is the Trump campaign, it’s easy to miss any one gaffe, or even a series of them. So in case you hadn’t heard, Donald Trump insisted that he’d seen a “secret video” of the United States recently delivering $400 million in cash to Iran and he was OUTRAGED!
“Over there, where that plane landed, top secret, they don’t have a lot of paparazzi, you know,” the former reality TV personality said. “The paparazzi doesn’t do so well over there.” But “they have a perfect tape, obviously done by a government camera, and the tape is of the people taking the money off the plane. It’s a military tape. It’s a tape that was a perfect angle, nice and steady.”
“Iran released that tape, which is of quality like these guys have,” he continued, pointing to the media in the back of the room. “Iran released that tape so that we will be embarrassed.”
The problems with this statement were, briefly: The video was from January; it wasn’t Iran, it was Geneva, Switzerland; and it wasn’t money being delivered, it was prisoners Iran had released getting off a plane.
Even after having this pointed out to him, Trump tried REALLY hard to stick to his story – including repeating the lie the next day – but, amazingly, he appears to have given up:
The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!

This might be the first time in this entire election cycle that Trump as admitted he was wrong. You’ll notice that he didn’t actually apologize for being wrong because he’s Trump and apologizing is weakness!! Very bad!
My guess is that he’s going to spend the day kicking puppies and yelling at Melania to soothe his wounded ego.
But could this be the dawn of a new, more humble Trump? One willing to admit mistakes and learn from them?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s a good one!
