GOP Just Passed An Anti-LGBT Platform That’s So Bad, It’s Pissing Off Other Republicans

With thrice married reprobate Donald Trump as the presumptive GOP nominee, Republican hatred has quickly shifted from gays to immigrants (or gay immigrants). But you can’t forget your true bread & butter, which is making the lives of perfectly happy, tax-paying gays miserable because you believe in Republican Jesus.

Propagated by the nation’s most virulently anti-gay politicians (or closeted and self-loathing) and the leader of an anti-gay hate group, Republicans late Tuesday voted on and passed the final draft of the GOP 2016 campaign platform. Apparently, the platform calls for some massively anti-gay measures. In fact, the platform was so insidious that the Log Cabin Republicans issued a fundraising email immediately, telling supporters, “moments ago, the Republican Party passed the most anti-LGBT Platform in the Party’s 162-year history.”

Opposition to marriage equality, nonsense about bathrooms, an endorsement of the debunked psychological practice of ‘pray the gay away‘— it’s all in there,” the email reads, as the Miami Herald’s Steve Rothaus reports.

This isn’t my GOP, and I know it’s not yours either, wrote Log Cabin President Gregory T. Angelo. Heck, it’s not even Donald Trump’s!,he claims, although that’s debatable.

When given a chance to follow the lead of our presumptive presidential nominee and reach out to the LGBT community in the wake of the awful terrorist massacre in Orlando on the gay nightclub Pulse, the Platform Committee said NO.

Republicans really know how to win people over, no? Worse yet, the fetus-worshipping party passed a plank that effectively says children raised in a “traditional” family are much better off than children raised by same-sex parents or single parents, even though that has been thoroughly disproved. In fact, some studies show that children of same-sex parents actually go on to lead healthier and happier lives than those raised by opposite-sex parents. Maybe that has to do with the fact that mommy develops an addiction to Xanax and the repair guy, while daddy is addicted to porn and fantasy football. But seriously, the fact remains that children living under the roof of same-sex couples are not without the same things as a traditional family.

Once again, the GOP has shown itself to be a party of racist and religiously bigoted old white people.
