Fox News Forced To Issue Retraction After Getting BUSTED For Flat Out Lying To Gullible Viewers

Fox News is having a terrible year. The forced resignation of crusty old CEO Roger Ailes over sexual harassment allegations culiminated in a massive payout to the victims and a major shake up within the organization. Meanwhile, its viewership consists of crotchety white guys, easily scared housewives, and a whole basket full of deplorables.  An aging and predominantly white audience is stifling its ability to relevant amid an increasingly diversifying American landscape.

But Fox news still distorts, and we still deride.

Just this past week, for example, Fox News reported that the Washington mall shooter, Arcan Cetin, illegally voted three times. There’s just one tiny problem with that assertion: It’s grade A bull sh*t.

The network falsely claimed that Cetin, a Turkish immigrant, was a permanent resident, not a U.S. citizen when he voted in U.S. elections. Naturally, its sheepish viewers took the bait and gladly shared it across social media without any regard to the facts.  But the right-wing network eventually got caught in its own web of lies and was forced to post a rare retraction, thus suffering another humiliation in a year full of them.

Needless to say, they tried to diminish their own culpability:

Arcan Cetin, the 20-year-old who killed five people at a Washington mall last week, is in fact a U.S. citizen, not a permanent resident.

KING 5 reported that a a federal official said Cetin is a naturalized U.S. citizen. That means he was legally registered to vote, despite reports indicating he illegally voted three times.

Fox News, much like most MSMS outlets these days, is totally incapable of showing a modicum of journalistic integrity–or at least humility when it gets busted.  It’s no wonder so many of its on-air personalities blindly worship Trump, as his whole campaign is built on lying and then deflecting blame.
