Former Defense Sec. Robert Gates Slams GOP Field And Their ‘Childish’ Grasp Of National Security

Today’s Republican Party has gone from Lincoln and Eisenhower, to the party of the screaming codger on the street corner pissing his pants. While there used to be seemingly sensible differences between the Republicans and Democrats, like the size of scope of government and war and peace issues, one party are adults and the other are playing with their own feces. At every one of these charades of a debate, we’ve learned that the GOP are the screaming kids in the back of the car, and the Democrats are the adults trying remain patient and focus on not crashing and dying.

Robert Gates, a Republican and Former Secretary of Defense under President Obama, has had just about all he can handle from these GOP clowns.

The highly respected Republican stalwart and former US Defense Secretary derided the 2016 GOP Insane Clown Posse for having a grasp of national security issues that “would embarrass a middle schooler.” Gates also lambasted the media for failing to challenge candidates from both parties on promises he believes are unaffordable, illegal or unconstitutional.

The level of dialogue on national security issues would embarrass a middle schooler, Gates said of the Republican contenders at a Politico Playbook event in Washington on Monday. People are out there making threats and promises that are totally unrealistic, totally unattainable. Either they really believe what they’re saying or they’re cynical and opportunistic and, in a way, you hope it’s the latter, because God forbid they actually believe some of the things that they’re saying.

Middle schoolers? Don’t you mean Pre-schoolers?

Gates also joined the chorus of people who have said they will move to Canada should Trump be able to muster enough morons and racists to put him in the White House.

Well, I live about 50 miles from Canada, said Gates.

Thankfully our lovely neighbors to the north are making it easier for Americans to move there in anticipation of a Trump presidency.
