FAIL: Trump (Or Cruz) Tried To Hire Duke Nukem Actor — Got Shut DOWN

If you grew up in the 90s, you probably played or heard someone playing Duke Nukem. The distinctive low voice of Duke Nukem is as iconic as the name thanks to Jon St. John, a voice actor with a serious set of pipes. Recently, one of the leading Republican candidates approached St. John with an offer to do a national series of commercials. St. John’s response? No, thanks, I have a conscience.

I don’t like to turn down jobs…especially when it’s a national ad campaign that pays pretty well. But I have a conscience and could not accept a gig to be the advertising voice of the Republican party’s leading candidate for President. Thanks for the kind offer, but I will sleep just fine at night knowing I made a choice I can live with. Meanwhile I’m happy to be recording a new video game today.

This shows St. John to be a respectable man who lives by his principles and is not afraid to turn down a lucrative offer if it conflicts with his morals. If we look strictly at poll numbers, the leader on the Republican side is, at this point, Donald Trump. However, St. John went out of his way to be ambiguous in this Facebook announcement, almost like he was afraid that telling people which candidate wanted him to use his voice magic to sell their slimy, low-brow, racist and fascist regime would cause him to be sued.

I should have written “a leading GOP candidate for President,” It might have been Trump or Cruz. Either way, I would not have done it.

Either way, we are glad he didn’t. It is nice to see people standing up for America, and their principals, over money and power. Especially when it is done so well.

Enjoy this selection of Duke Nukem quotes, just fill in the names of Republican candidates as needed:
