Eric Trump Just Questioned Democrats’ Patriotism With This Ridiculous Tweet (IMAGES)

You know the deal with Republicans — they are long on symbolism and very short on substance. And of course there is nothing more symbolically important to them than the American flag. After daddy Donald spent the first evening of the Democratic convention tweeting insults about Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and others, sonny-boy Eric decided to try a different mode of attack.

On Tuesday morning Eric Trump tweeted a photo with a comment obviously designed to play on the tired old Republican claim that Democrats “hate America.”

Eric took a picture of one moment from the first day of the DNC and used it to suggest that Democrats have pushed the American flag out of the way. His comment implies that he thinks this had been done so as to not “offend” anyone. Just as a frame of reference, here’s the stage of the recently completed Republican National Convention. Note the flag in the spotlight, off to one side.

One flag, dwarfed by the giant screen in the middle of the stage and the words “Trump Pence.” You might think that at the moment depicted in the photo, everybody would be waving his or her flag. But no, that one flag over in the spotlight is the only one visible.

OK, how about this picture? Wow, look at all of those flags!

You may not be able to tell from that photo, but none of those flags are real. They’re an image displayed on the screen behind the stage. Thanks to video technology the Republicans displayed a variety of images at various times. Sometimes the stage was filled with flags. Sometimes the flag in the spotlight was there all by its lonesome self. It all depends on when the picture was snapped. The same is true at the DNC. If Eric Trump had tweeted a picture taken at a different point, it would have shown this:

See Eric, Democrats have flags too. And ours aren’t being dwarfed by the name of our candidate.

Sure, there was plenty of red, white, and blue on display in Cleveland. But not much in the way of flags. Each state’s sign identifying where the delegation was located at the RNC featured a stylized logo of stars along with red and white stripes, as seen in this picture.

And at the bottom of the Democrats’ version of those signs? A complete American flag.

So if you’re counting flags to determine patriotism, Eric Trump, Democrats win.
