Donald Trump’s Gift To America: The Destruction Of Fox News

Donald Trump. At this point in his campaign I’m not even sure what to say about him. He has brought us racism, stupidity, racism, stupidity, bigotry….racism…..more stupidity…you get the picture. But the one thing we didn’t really count on him gifting us is the destruction of the right-wing’s most beloved network: Fox News.

As we are all aware, Donny refused to attend the second Fox debate because Megyn Kelly hurt his feelings by asking him real questions about his own actions. According to New York Magazine, the host’s feud with Trump has shot her into the limelight and this has really pissed her colleague Bill O’Reilly off.

“They’re at each other’s throats big time,” one Fox insider said. “I mean, like big time. Roger [Ailes] doesn’t know what the hell to do.”

Kelly made her problems with O’Reilly worse when she went on Stephen Colbert’s show and made a dig about Bill taping his show at 5 p.m. when it airs at 8 p.m.:

If you’re not live at night — because the show before me and the show after me are taped — you lose a lot.

On top of the beef between Ailes two biggest stars, he is also left with the realization that his network is not as powerful as it once was. Once upon a time, candidates would flock to the network for approval. If the “fair and balanced” outlet liked them, the base would surely follow their advice and jump on board, but Trump has changed all that. He is the only conservative candidate in recent memory who gives absolutely zero f*cks about whether they like him or not and this is, in turn, hurts Ailes’ credibility with Rupert Murdoch.

Trump’s criticism has — for him, at least — “demonstrated that disregarding Fox News doesn’t spell political ruin for a Republican,” according to reporter Gabriel Sherman.

“If Trump gets elected, Fox will have had little to do with it,” Sherman wrote. “In fact, it may be a sign of Ailes’ waning power and the waxing of Trump’s that Murdoch seems to be warming to the idea of a Trump candidacy.

This is all pretty hilarious. Not only has Donald Trump managed to expose the Republican Party for the racist, xenophobic, misogynistic party we have always known they are, but he is causing Fox to implode in the process.

For this I say: Keep up the good work, Trump!
