The only thing that has people more worked up than a Trump rally is the new season of HBO’s insanely popular Game of Thrones. And being as this is an election year, Game of Thrones’ mix of political intrigue, backstabbing (and frontstabbing), illicit sex, scandal and, wait, am I describing GoT or this year’s selection of presidential nominees?! I don’t know anymore!
To help us figure that out, the Washington Post came up with this helpful little quiz and put their writers and staff to the test. It’s really simple: One person reads a quote from the show or from a candidate and the other person tries to figure out who said what. If you think it’s easy, you’re either a hardcore fan of the show or a serious political nerd.
Here are the quotes and you’ll just have to watch the video to get the answers.
- “The world is a horrible place. Lions kill for food, but people kill for sport.”
- “As I said, I was young and stupid.”
- “Every marriage is a mystery to me, even the one I’m in. So I’m no expert on it.”
- “I will be your champion.”
My favorite part of this video is watching the professionals blow it. They do this stuff for a living and even they couldn’t separate reality from fiction. That just makes me love Game of Thrones that much more.
