That high-pitched, keening sound you hear is the eldritch screech of right wingers howling about voter fraud and rigged voting machines casting robo-ballots for Democrats in the states of Illinois and Maryland.
It all started last week, when the Tea Party News Network reported a single incident in the historical “breeding ground and hotbed of political corruption” in Chicago, where — gasp! — a Republican candidate cast his early voting ballot on a rigged voting machine’s touch screen and accidentally selected his Democratic rival’s name instead.
When Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote on Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library, his vote, which was naturally cast for himself, was changed by the voting machine to that of his Democrat opponent
Instead of mentioning the part where corrects his vote instead of confirming it on the errant touch screen, the traumatized victim of his own wandering finger whimpered to Watchdog.Org — while his glazed eyeballs still burned from the sight of his Democratic opponent’s name:
I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent. You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”
A follow-up report from TPNN adds similar reports have come from Maryland. Though two out of three come from the same voter, a woman named Donna Hamilton:
When I first selected my candidate on the electronic machine, it would not put the ‘x’ on the candidate I chose — a Republican — but it would put the ‘x’ on the Democrat candidate above it,”
Oh! The HORROR!
“This happened multiple times with multiple selections. Every time my choice flipped from Republican to Democrat. Sometimes it required four or five tries to get the ‘x’ to stay on my real selection.”
But here’s the kicker… The voting machines in both Cook County, Ill. and in Maryland came from Diebold, a company run by die-hard Republicans which has been involved in multiple cases of voter fraud favoring the GOP.
The Columbus Free Press reports Diebold voting machines were behind election irregularities in the 2000, 2002, and 2004 elections. And, apparently, not just in the U.S. The Feds recently indicted Diebold for a “worldwide pattern of criminal conduct.”
These election irregularities — most notably the one in which George W. Bush “won” in 2000 and promptly enacted policies that completely destroyed two nations, plus the world’s economy — have always seemed to favor GOP candidates. It therefore seems suspicious that Diebold suddenly wants to lend a helping hand to Democrats, unless they’re trying to validate Republicant’s claims of non-existent voter fraud by… committing voter fraud against themselves.
