In the dark days of the Middle Ages, the annals of Mafia history, and in brutal fascist regimes, power is held by fear. One of the biggest fears? That if you displease or rise against the “ruler” they will not only kill you, they will wipe out your family as well. Donald Trump, on Fox News, outlined his policy on ISIL.
With the terrorists, you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families.
In yet another flippity-floppity gelatinous policy ooze to a new position on how he would deal with the terror group.
Showing ignorance to the Geneva Convention’s protections for noncombatants, Trump is perfectly clear about what he would, in fact, want to do to combat ISIL Terrorists:
They care about their lives, don’t kid yourself. But they say they don’t care about them. You have to take out their families.
Not only does this make us everything that we claim our enemy is, it opens the door to other nations to treat us in the same fashion. Every family member of every service member would immediately have a target on their back, everywhere in the world. Yes, it is not unheard of for terrorists to attack civilians, but that is why they are called terrorists.
For any of you out there that are about to whine that terrorists don’t uphold the Geneva Convention: suck it up buttercup – we signed it and it states, in no uncertain terms, that we must uphold it REGARDLESS of whether or not the enemy we are fighting is party to the Convention.
That means that a man running for president of the United States appears to have just clearly announced that he will commit war crimes as part of his platform. Let that sink in.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1eXRXL0nkk&w=854&h=480]
