In perhaps one of the biggest “no sh*t” headlines to come down the pike in awhile, national polls show that 3 out of 4 (that’s 75%) of Latinos have a negative view of Donald Trump. In addition, more than 50% believe his comments about Mexican immigrants were inappropriate and racist. Only 13% of respondents have a ‘favorable’ impression of the ultra-rich Republican Presidential candidate. And a whopping 69% believe he is damaging the GOP’s image. These figures were released in a recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll.
Watch a video news report on the poll below:
Poor Donald. Evidently his comments about the flood of Mexican criminals into this country struck the wrong chord. In case you forgot, here is the exact quote:
[Mexico is] ‘sending people that have lots of problems… They are bringing drugs. They are bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.’
And one wonders why Trump, somewhere in his delusional fantasyland, thinks that Latinos support him in overwhelming numbers?
Could it be the fact that Mr. Trump’s companies routinely import foreign workers (mostly from Mexico) on foreign visas? Oh I’m sure the people who receive a paycheck from him just L-O-V-E the hell out of him. But of course, those aren’t the drug dealers, bad people and the ones ‘doing the raping.’
I have a great relationship with the Mexican people. I have many people working for me – look at the job in Washington – I have many legal immigrants working with me. And many of them come from Mexico. They love me, I love them.
If ‘The Donald’ thinks the Latino vote is going to carry him all the way to Pennsylvania Avenue, he’d better increase his foreign worker import numbers. Based on his rhetoric, the only “good” Mexican s are the ones on his payroll.
