Donald Trump leveled an attack against Mitt Romney in Utah on Friday night that makes us wonder if he has memory problems.
The Republican presidential candidate is as well known for his contradictions as he is for his racism. He has flip-flopped so much that most of us have absolutely no idea where he stands on anything. Trump’s memory gets especially fuzzy when he is defending himself against someone who doesn’t like him and that is what happened during his rally in Salt Lake City. The billionaire said:
Do I love the Mormons? I have many friends that live in Salt Lake City — and by the way, Mitt Romney is not one of them. Are you sure he’s a Mormon? Are we sure?
Yep, he questioned whether or not Mitt Romney is a “true” Mormon, even though he said this when the Pope raised the very same question about him:
For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I’m proud to be a Christian and as president — I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now with our current president. No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion and faith.
Well, that is quite a contradiction. Let’s follow this Trump Logic™ for a moment: It’s not okay for the Pope (a religious leader) to call into question Trump’s faith, but it’s totally cool if Trump (a Republican leader) calls Mitt Romney’s faith into question? Seems legit.
Trump supporters will say,”But he’s not a leader!” That’s not true at all. Right now he is leading the Republican presidential primary and he brags about that ever single time he discusses how many states he has won. He is the front-runner and will likely be the GOP nominee for President of the United States. At the very least, he is a very prominent figure (gag) in the party right now and by his own words that means he should never, ever question another man’s faith.
Unfortunately, the mainstream media is so enamored by him and the ratings he brings, that they will probably never call him out for his blatant hypocrisy.
