Democratic Councilman really doesn’t like New Jersey Governor
The Philadelphia Eagles were losing to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night when Jim Kenney angrily tweeted about the New Jersey Governor’s presence at the game.
To make sure the Councilman was perfectly clear, he followed up his first tweet:
Ironically, the Democratic Councilman has a Twitter bio that says:
Let’s just be decent to each other. You can only be happy when in service to other people. Strive to be a person for others.
When Kenney was asked what drove his animosity for Christie, Kenney said it was economics.
He explained via text to PhillyClout:
I have a big nose and he has a fat ass. Just as life deals you. But PA and Philly taxpayers paid for that box he was sitting in to cheer on the Cowboys.
Kenney also said that PA residents spends thousands of dollars in New Jersey shore towns every year, so he should reconsider where his loyalties lie, undoubtedly referencing Christie’s expected bid for President in 2016.
Christie went on WPG Talk Radio 1450-AM on Monday morning to defend his choice in football team:
I love passionate sports fans. I really do. I’m a passionate sports fan. And so I can’t say that I was the least bit surprised by the reaction of some Eagles fans. I don’t react in that way but I’m an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan. I’ve never made a secret of it from the time I entered public life.
Followers of the PA councilman weren’t too happy with the phrases used in the tweets and admonished him. This isn’t the first time Kenney has been in hot water over Twitter; in 2012 it was discovered that the councilman paid someone $29,000 per year out of taxpayers’ money to tweet for him. Perhaps they should have let his social media person stay on after all.
