In the most recent Republican debate, Chris Christie argued that he is the best person to “prosecute the case against Hillary Clinton” because being a blue state Republican makes him uniquely qualified to do so. He invoked her name more times than the rest of the candidates combined, and has bashed her many times over her “e-mail scandal”.
While Christie has been riding the Hillary hate wave, he has been hiding almost 10k of his own emails from investigators that relate to his own real scandals. Well isn’t that interesting?
I am sure that it is completely different for Christie since Republicans never have to take personal responsibility for their crimes due to the “liberal media.”
Christie’s legal team is inappropriately hiding thousands of documents related to the Bridgegate scandal, the two defense lawyers argued in briefs filed late Tuesday. Among the hidden documents, the lawyers say, are emails to and from the governor’s personal and work email accounts and a calendar entry from the week when an order was delivered to close lanes at the George Washington Bridge in 2013.
All told, Christie’s taxpayer-funded attorneys at the Gibson Dunn law firm have withheld or redacted 9,428 emails and other documents. The reasons given include “campaign strategy” and “press strategy.”
This is huge. “Campaign” and “press” strategy? Wow that is damning by any stretch of the imagination. All of these revelations come during a time when Christie regularly attacks Hillary Clinton every chance he gets. “The real story is this – I believe in my heart – that Hillary Clinton doesn’t want us to know what she’s doing.” Christie says in regards to Hillary’s recent E-mail not-scandal. He went on to say “When I’m president of the United states, you have a right to know what your president is doing.” He is digging such a hole for himself, isn’t he?
You can be assured of a few things with this. One is that Christie will deny the reality of this, blame the “Liberal media” and say we shouldn’t talk about it when there are bigger issues to discuss. Two is that Christie will never be president. And three is that hopefully the next debate sees him grilled hard by other candidates and the debate moderators on this explosion of scandal in his administration.
