Billionaire Trump Whining Because Obama Won’t Give Him Free Secret Service Protection

Donald Trump might be running what he calls a self-funded campaign, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t expect freebies on the taxpayer dime. Trump is allegedly requesting a secret service detail and President Obama hasn’t granted his wish — so, predictably, Trump is whining about it.

I want to put them on notice because they should have a liability. Personally, I think if Obama were doing as well as me he would’ve had Secret Service [earlier]. I have by far the biggest crowds.

The President hasn’t said either “yes” or “no” to the billionaire turned reality star turned *um* reality star — who calls Mexicans “rapists”– and that, according to Trump, is the problem:

They’re in no rush because I’m a Republican. They don’t give a sh*t.

Of course I don’t think they’d want anything to happen. But I would think they should be very proactive and want protection for somebody like me that has 20,000 people at any time. You would think that they would want to be very proactive, but we have not heard from them.”
Homeland Security, though, says that they’ve received no such request.

While it’s not unprecedented for a presidential candidate to receive Secret Service protection (Mitt Romney did in 2012 and Hillary Clinton does because she is a former First Lady) Trump already has his own security. Remember when one of them punched a protester in the face? He beefed up his usual detail after picking a fight with the Mexican drug lord, El Chapo, who he claims has threatened his life.

Of course, that’s why Donald Trump shouldn’t be President; not why he should have Secret Service protection. Sane heads of state (no, Putin is not sane) do not go around picking fights with people just to score tough guy points.

As for the Secret Service protection, if Trump wants to brag he’s self-funded, which he’s not, he shouldn’t put the onus of protecting him from his own gargantuan mouth on the taxpayer.
