In case you needed any extra incentive to vote for Bernie Sanders, Bill O’ Reilly wants you to know that he will be leaving the country if we vote Sanders into office. It seems the blustery buffoon will be taking up residence in Ireland should Bernie win.
You know, look, I’m fleeing,” he told Fox News White House Correspondent Ed Henry. If Bernie Sanders gets elected president, I’m fleeing. I’m going to Ireland. And they already know it.
Oh Billy, nobody expects you to actually leave. After all, how will we ever know what the truth is if we don’t have you spouting silly propaganda every day?
Naturally, his reasoning for threatening expatriation is quite typical of horribly confused reactionaries.
I shouldn’t say it publicly because that will get Sanders more votes, he explained. But I’m not going to pay 90 percent of my income to that guy. I’m sorry. I’m not doing it.
Ah, the old 90 percent tax rate trick. Firstly, no politician in their right mind would ever suggest such a policy and expect to garner a single vote. Secondly, Bernie never publicly said he supports such a high tax rate. In fact, it was b*tchy orange Donald Trump who disingenuously said that, ironically enough, to a crowd of mostly lower to middle-class voters at a rally in Richmond, Virginia. However, he did say he supported a rate at 50 percent , which would only apply to the selfish a-holes who park yachts inside bigger yachts. . For the record, 90 percent was the overall tax rate under President Eisenhower; and that didn’t mean you would only get $100k on an income of one million.
But heck, if it means we can be rid of O’Reilly then sure–Bernie supports a 90 percent tax rate. No word yet on whether the people of Ireland will leave if O’Reilly goes there.
