Now that the Benghazi revelation has effectively killed Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) chances of becoming Speaker, heat is being thrown on the GOP to shut down the committee or face political backlash. And just recently, a former GOP staffer for the committee admitted on TV that he was fired from his duties after refusing to pursue false information regarding former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Things couldn’t get worse for the Benghazi-touting Republicans, could it?
Wrong. Another GOP Congressman (not surprisingly) has admitted what the select committee is really about.
While appearing on Keeler in the Morning, a radio show in upstate New York, Republican Rep. Richard Hanna jumped to the defense of the Majority Leader, saying:
Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in D.C. is to tell the truth. This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton…after what Kevin McCarthy said, it’s difficult to accept at least a part of it was not. I think that’s the way Washington works. But you’d like to expect more from a committee that’s spent millions of dollars and tons of time.
At this point, Republicans aren’t even mincing words. They know they’ve been caught, and their lies will only continue to be exposed.
Considering the fact the feds already did their job in acquiring the militant suspects who broke into the Benghazi compound, it’s not entirely known who these ‘people’ are. But one thing is clear: since day one, Democrats have been saying this committee had only one target: Hillary Clinton.
Thank you, Congressman Hanna, for proving what the Democrats have always known.
