Most of us have picked up on Donald Trump’s limited vocabulary. He has bragged about his aversion to books in favor of watching television. Several times, Trump’s ability to read has been questioned. Now, yet another former cast member of Saturday Night Live has come forward to confirm your worst fears about the man holding our country’s highest office.
Taran Killam, who impersonated Trump during his time as an SNL star, said that not only is Trump “a moron,” but he also “struggled to read” when he appeared on the show as a guest.
What you see is what you get with him, really,” he said. “I mean, there was no big reveal. He struggled to read at the table read, which did not give many of us great confidence. Didn’t get the jokes, really. He’s just a man who seems to be powered by bluster.”
Killam does not have fond memories of Trump’s stint on SNL and he made it clear that this was definitely not one of his more positive experiences during his time on the show.
“It was not fun, and most of the cast and writers were not excited to have him there,” said Killam. “I didn’t get the feeling that he was excited to be there, and it felt like a move for ratings from both sides.”
This isn’t the first time an SNL star has told us that the man serving as our commander in chief is illiterate. After Trump appeared on the show in 2015, Pete Davidson said during a radio interview that Trump “doesn’t really know how to read.”
Let that sink in for a minute. The leader of the free world can’t f*cking read. The thought is mind blowing. If you weren’t scared to death of the idiot running our country before, you sure as hell should be now.
