Sarah Huckabee Sanders has only been White House Press Secretary for a week and she’s already having a complete meltdown.
On Tuesday morning, it was revealed that Donald Trump dictated Donald Trump Jr’s statement on his meeting with a Kremlin-linked Russian lawyer and a Soviet intelligence officer to get dirt on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Election from the Russian government.
The emails released by Trump Jr. were damning evidence of collusion, which took place inside Trump Tower.
The revelation that Trump wrote his son’s statement contradicts earlier statements from his own laywer, who denied that Trump wrote the misleading letter during an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN two weeks ago.
“The president did not draft the response, the response came from Donald Trump Jr., I’m sure in consultation with his lawyer,” Jay Sekulow claimed.
Now we know that was a total lie and reporters grilled Sanders for it during a daily press briefing at the White House.
Sanders claimed that the letter was the truth despite being written by Trump himself, and then tried to pull the parent card.
“The president weighed in as any father would based on the information he had,” she said.
But that’s not a good enough explanation, so reporters rightfully peppered her with more questions until Sanders snapped and began whining about Hillary Clinton and accused Democrats of collusion.
“I think what the bigger question is, everybody wants to try to make this some story about misleading. The only thing I’ve seen misleading is a year’s worth of stories that have been fueling a false narrative about this Russia collusion based on a phony scandal based on anonymous sources. You guys are focused on a meeting that Don Jr. had of no consequence when the Democrats actually colluded with a foreign government. And if you want to talk further about a relationship with Russia, look no further than the Clintons as we’ve said time and time again.”
Here’s the video via YouTube.
Except that the Clintons did not collude with Russia, and Hillary Clinton is not president. Donald Trumps campaign did collude with Russia and he is president. That’s why Trump’s Russia scandal is such a major story right now.
Trying to distract from the facts with constant lies is only digging the hole deeper for Trump and his administration.
