First off, we don’t like running these kinds of stories.
Personally, we think coverage of Trump kissing his grown daughter Ivanka in public, is well, a little bit too much. But, he’s her father, and that’s okay. Yes, we said it.
However, that doesn’t mean everything Trump said done or said about his daughters is okay.
The Daily Show has just uncovered video of Trump giving an interview in 1994 about his then infant daughter Tiffany with then-wife Marla Maples. The interview appeared on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
In the interview, the host asks Trump which physical traits Tiffany inherited from each of them, and Trump’s response shows how he views women, even his own daughter.
‘Well, I think that she’s got a lot of Marla,’ Trump said. ‘She’s a really beautiful baby, and she’s got Marla’s legs.’
That’s when Trump motions to his chest and add, ‘We don’t know whether she’s got this part yet, but time will tell.’
This is just the kind of humor Trump has with his daughters. It’s the kind of guy he is. It’s the attitude he has about women everywhere.
He once talked early in the campaign about how his daughter Ivanka had a ‘very nice figure’ and suggested he’d be dating her if he wasn’t her dad.
‘She’s really something, and what a beauty, that one,’ he told Rolling Stone last year. ‘If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father…’
He’s made similar statements about her in the past, too.
How many fathers joke about their daughters in this way? That’s a serious question.
