In his early morning tweet ritual, Donald Trump has controversially linked an increase in recorded crime with the “spread of radical Islamic terror” in the UK.

Trump tweets:

“Just out report:”United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.” Not good, we must keep America safe!”

Just out report: “United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.” Not good, we must keep America safe!

On the contrary,  as the Telegraph notes, much of the violent crime spike is due to increased gang-related activities, and not because of Islamist terrorism. So, again — Trump has no idea what he’s talking about.

Many British politicians were quick to call out the president for making faulty assumptions that further revealed his own ignorance and stupidity.

“Butt out of it mister president,” Labour Party MP Chris Bryant said, per the Daily Mail. “You have more murders in New York or Chicago every year than we do in the whole country so we’re not going to take any lessons from you.”

Labour MP Stephen Doughty says:

“[Trump] “is talking nonsense about issues he doesn’t understand.”

He added:

“Donald Trump would be better paced looking at issues in his own country such as the huge number of deaths from gun violence which despite repeated atrocities from Sandy Hook to Las Vegas, the US government have failed to take action on.”

Evidently, Trump is just stirring the pot and causing our allies to not respect our nation. Spewing out complete lies without any prior knowledge or research is not how a leader operates. Then again — Trump isn’t much of a leader anyway.
