While Donald Trump is trying to ignore the fact that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has filed sealed indictments against his corrupt administration, his legal team and close allies are scrambling to get answers so they can prepare ahead of Monday, when those indictments will come to light.
Over the weekend, Politico reported that Mueller’s latest move has “triggering a guessing game among aides after days of trying to turn attention away from allegations of collusion with Russia during the election.”
“President Donald Trump’s White House and personal lawyers scrambled Saturday to learn where the knife might fall in the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.”
Apparently, the attorneys in the White House that represent Trump and his team were making endless frantic, desperate calls on Friday and Saturday to see if any information was available about who those sealed indictments might involve. This panicked response is, of course, completely uncharacteristic of people who are innocent and have nothing to hide.
To make matters worse for the Trump team, on Saturday more suspicions were raised about the possible indictment of Trump’s former national security advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and his old campaign chairman, Paul Manafort.
Unfortunately for Trump, Mueller is working at record speed (unlike the President himself). Mueller was only appointed five months ago, and if his indictments are accurate, he is moving well ahead of the 17-month average of several previous independent and special counsel cases where criminal charges were filed. He’s definitely keeping Donald Trump and his administration on their toes, and it’s evident in the way that Trump and his team are unraveling right before our very eyes. The Trump administration obviously thought they could outrun Mueller, but he’s clearly catching up.
