Trump Tried To Pay Famous Rapper $500,000 To Win Over African-Americans, Got Rejected

Curtis Jackson, otherwise known as 50 Cent, has just come out publicly about President Trump, saying that he was offered over $500,000 to campaign for Trump during the 2016 presidential election. His reply? Sorry, but no thanks.

“Before he got elected, they were having issues with the African-American vote. They wanted to pay me $500,000 as part of the campaign just to make an appearance,” he told New York Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning. “And I was like, ‘Nah, that’s not good money.’”

50 Cent said it wasn’t just about the money, though. What he really meant was it’s “not worth it” to campaign for a guy that doesn’t have the values needed in a president. “I’m not gonna do that.”

Trump’s campaign thought it might be good to have 50 on board considering his polling numbers were so dismal in the demographic. Turns out, Trump ended up receiving less support from black and Hispanic voters than any elected president in the last 40 years.

An interesting fact about the rapper: He defended George W. Bush in 2005 after Kanye West said at the time that the former president “doesn’t care about black people.” He even went as far as to say Bush was “incredible” and a “gangsta.”

While Trump was trying to buy influence, notable black rappers were openly coming out showing their support for Clinton – like Jay Z, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, etc.
