Donald Trump’s widely reported stunning silence over the deaths of the four U.S. soldiers who were ambushed in Niger earlier this month prompted a phone call from the so-called president to the widow of the fallen soldiers. Unfortunately, it would have been better if the former reality show star had not placed that call because he told U.S. Army Sgt. Johnson’s grieving widow on Tuesday that “he knew what he signed up for … but when it happens, it hurts anyway,” according to U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Florida).
In response to the reports, Trump said, “I have proof” that the congresswoman is lying. The White House later said that there is “no recording” of the phone call, but there were other people in the car with the congresswoman who were with Johnson’s widow, including Johnson’s mother, who overheard the conversation.
Naturally, conservatives, such as wingnut actor James Woods, are attacking Wilson’s looks because they have nothing else. The Niger attack is the new Benghazi and people want answers – except for Trump supporters.
