It’s been less than two weeks since Donald Trump was elected and already we’ve seen an enormous spike in hatred and bigoted behavior across the country.
On Friday, an unknown Trump supporter vandalized the memorial park honoring the late Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. The words “Go Trump” along with swastikas were spray painted all over the playground equipment played on daily by children from all over NYC.
New York City councilman Brad Lander posted a photo of the vandalism on his Twitter account stating:
“Yet more hatred & anti-Semitism from Trump supporters. Swastikas on the playground equipment in Adam Yauch Park in BK Heights. #NeverIsNow”

Adam Yauch’s mother was raised Jewish, but his father was Catholic. Adam himself was a practicing Buddhist and held no ties to his parents’ faiths. His bandmates, however, are Jewish – perhaps it’s an attack on the band as a whole? We can’t be sure.
While what prompted this display of bigotry against Yauch is unknown, one thing is for certain — it’s got to be extremely upsetting for his bandmates, the people of Brooklyn, and all of Yauch’s fans across the globe. This hatred has to stop.
