Trump gave an interview today in which he ripped Attorney General Jeff Sessions—his own pick—over the Russia scandal. Why? Because Sessions’ recusal from the investigation opened the door to Mueller’s appointment as special counsel. Trump, as he is wont to do, claims that is very unfair to him.
Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.”
He literally said that decision is “very unfair to the president,” because of course he did. Anything that isn’t bowing and scraping before him, kissing his boots, and shoving heads up his ass, is unfair to him. The idea that Sessions is responsible for the acceleration of the Russia investigation simply because he recused himself—as he should have done—is narcissistic as all hell.
As for Special Counsel Mueller, he accused Mueller of having an office with squillions of conflicts of interest. According to the Times story, he didn’t say he’d order the DOJ to fire him, but he seemed to leave open that possibility. He’s just too angry at the political price he’s paying for being unable to hide the fact that he’s a corrupt fascist.
Trump also went after James Comey, again, for allegedly using the damaging Steele dossier as leverage to ensure he kept his job. That’s absolutely ludicrous considering Trump had wanted to fire Comey for awhile over his role in the Russia investigation.
In other words, Trump, as usual, is playing the total victim here. As his tweets repeatedly say, this is a witch hunt, and all these resources would be better spent investigating people like Hillary Clinton and other perceived enemies. It’s also reminiscent of his constant whining that the press treats him unfairly because they report the truth, and they focus on what they believe is important, instead of all talking about how great the President of the Electoral College of the United States is.
Trump’s fears that his election is illegitimate are on full display here, as they always are whenever things like this come up. He’s out of hand, and he’s a terrible embarrassment to this country.
